During the Test
Key Skills Assessed:
- Starting the Vehicle: Ensure the car is in the correct gear. Check mirrors and blind spots.
- Intersection Handling: Approach with caution. Yield right-of-way as required. Perform smooth stops at stop signs and lights.
- Lane Changes: Signal in advance. Check mirrors and blind spots. Change lanes smoothly and safely.
- Merging and Exiting: Signal appropriately. Adjust speed to traffic flow.
- Speed Control: Maintain the posted speed limit. Adjust speed for road and weather conditions.
- Traffic Lights: Stop on yellow/red lights (unless unsafe). Proceed smoothly on green.
- Turns: Use turn signals. Execute left and right turns smoothly.
- Parallel Parking: Check surroundings. Align your car correctly. Maintain safe distance from the curb.
- Three-Point Turn: Signal appropriately. Perform with control and awareness.
- Roadside Stop: Pull over safely. Signal and check mirrors.
- Pedestrian and Cyclist Awareness: Yield to pedestrians at crosswalks. Maintain a safe distance from cyclists.
- Highway Driving (if applicable): Merge and exit safely. Maintain safe following distance.
General Tips:
